These are the most usual questions we are asked during the reservation process. Here are the answers!

  • I would like to rent an accommodation in the center of Ubud, do you have any?
All our accommodations are few kilometers outside the center of Ubud, because in the center is possible to find many guest house at cheap price.
Our accommodation are all out from the center and are convenient also for a long stay.
There are also some houses in the center, but we don't manage them because the beauty of Ubud is in its surroundings.

Back to the questions

  • I would like to rent an accommodation, but I don't know how long, is it possible to proceed anyway?
Unfortunately we need to know the length of the stay, both for availability and price.
Many accommodations have bookings for the following months, so it could happen that a house is available only one week, another a couple of days and so on.
Knowing the dates is fundamental.

Back to the questions

  • I will arrive in two days, can I book in time?
The owners generally answer within a couple of days, they read email 2-3 times a week and sometime is hard to reach them even on the phone. We can't guarantee an accommodation for a request with a such short notice.
We suggest you to make a request at least one or two weeks before the arrival, especially if you have specific needs as we need to get in touch with the owner.

Back to the questions

  • How far is Ubud from the airport?
Ubud is about one hour and half drive from the airport.

Back to the questions

  • How can I get to Ubud from the airport?
There are different ways to reach Ubud:

    • Taxi: the easiest and the most expensive, generally the price is around 250.000 IDR.

    • Bus: the cheapest way. The ticket price is 50.000 IDR.
It's not possible to take the bus from the airport, but you have to reach Kuta, to the Perama bus station (the bus company). You have to calculate, a part the 50.000 IDR, also the price of the taxi or motorbike to reach the bus station. Instead if you need to go from Ubud to the airport, it is possible to take a direct Perama bus Ubud-Airport.

  • Rent a vehicle: it's possible to rent a car or a motorbike to reach UBud, even if generally this operation is done directly in Ubud and not at the airport.
Back to the questions

  • How can I move once in Ubud?
Once you are in Ubud we suggest you to rent a motorbike, it's the fastest way to move around. The roads in Ubud are narrow and often some vehicles are parked on the sides, making the circulation even more difficult.
Also some houses can be reached only by foot, bike or motorbike. It's also possible to rent a bicycle, but there are many up and down hills, it can be very tiring if you are not fit. It really depends on where you stay, so please ask us.
Some owners rent directly motorbikes, bicycles and also cars, others instead can suggest you somebody for the rent. Anyway, Ubud is full of rent shops.
Negotiate for the price, especially if you are willing to stay for a long time, the daily price is around 50-60.000 IDR but if you rent for one month and negotiate well, you can get a motorbike for less than 500.000 IDR.
We DON'T recommend you to rent a car, the traffic in the center of Ubud is terrible for many reasons: poor logistic, Balinese drivers artistic driving and mostly because there's a caos generated by big tourist buses trying to park and drive in unbelievable places.

Back to the questions

  • How far is Ubud from the beach?
Ubud is not near the beach, even if from the map looks so, it takes time.
The nearest beach is in Sanur, it takes about 45 minutes of motorbike.
The time to get there changes depending on the traffic and your driving style.
To reach Kuta or Seminyak it takes more time, more than one hour of driving.
And it's not a relaxed drive.
If you want to spend time at the beach, we don't recommend you to stay in Ubud.

Back to the questions

  • We are already in Ubud, can we meet tomorrow and discuss about an accommodation?
Unfortunately it's too late. But you are in a good position now, you can take a motorbike and go around yourself. You'll find plenty of houses and you can negotiate directly with the owners.

Back to the questions

  • How does the payment work?
After the owner confirm the availability and the total price for the stay, he will also communicate the deposit that he wants to block the accommodation.
We will collect the deposit via Bank, Paypal or Moneybookers.
This deposit is NOT refundable, unless the owner decides differently.
The remaining amount has to be paid directly to the owner, following his/her policies (generally by cash on arrival, in Indonesian Rupiah currency).

Back to the questions

  • Which guarantees can I receive, in order to don't find "surprises" on my arrival?
We personally visited the accommodations and the owner, as you can see in the accommodation page.
In case an owner will not behave correctly (it never happened until now), we will provide to remove his/her accommodation from our network and refund the deposit to you.
